I. Core Function and Process
Function: Form the tab, cut the shape, round the corners, and separate the strips for the current sheet, meeting the requirements of lamination / winding assembly, directly affecting the battery capacity, internal resistance, cycle life and safety.
Process Flow: Unwind → Deviation correction → Tension control → Tab forming (die-cutting / laser) → Dust removal → CCD detection → Cutting / Stripping → Defective item elimination → Good product collection / Lamination.
II. Main Types and Comparison
1. Metal Mold Cutting Machine (Mold Type)
Principle: Servo feeding + Precision Mold (Concave and Convex Mold) High-speed Punching, forming the tabs and the shape in one go.
Advantages: Low cost, good stability, small burrs (≤15μm), suitable for medium and small-sized specifications, large-scale mature production lines.
Disadvantages: Slow changeover (1-2 hours), large mold wear, high maintenance cost, limited for narrow tabs / complex shapes.
Typical Parameters: Speed 30-60m/min; Precision ±0.2mm; Mold life 100-200 000 times / repair.
2. Laser Mold Cutting Machine (No Mode)
Principle: High-power fiber / ultraviolet laser focusing, instant melting / vaporization of the current sheet, non-contact cutting of the tabs and the shape.
Advantages: Fast changeover (10-30min), high flexibility, no mold wear, burrs ≤25μm, suitable for narrow tabs / special-shaped current sheets.
Disadvantages: High equipment cost, strict control of dust / molten beads, slight impact on the conductivity of the current sheet.
Typical Parameters: Speed 80-160m/min; Precision ±0.1-0.3mm; Yield ≥99.5%.
III. Core Structure (General)
Unwinding and Deviation Correction: Air expansion shaft + Magnetic powder / servo tension (10-100N) + EPC/CCD correction, accuracy ≤0.15mm, preventing deviation.
Feeding Traction: Servo motor + Precision roller / vacuum belt, feeding accuracy ±0.1mm, ensuring consistent tab spacing.
Forming Unit:
Metal Mold: Mold + Cam / servo drive, punching force 5-20T, mold cooling anti-sticking knife.
Laser Mold: Laser (100-500W) + Mirror + F-θ lens, focused spot ≤50μm, equipped with anti-shake mechanism.
Dust Removal System: Air knife + Brush + Negative pressure + Ultrasonic, dust control ≤0.3μm, preventing short circuits and self-discharge.
CCD Visual Inspection: 16K/8K camera, inspecting tab size, burrs, shortage, powder loss, accuracy ≤0.1mm, automatically eliminating defective products.
Collection / Lamination: Vacuum suction + Tray / Lamination table, automatic tray change, connecting to the subsequent process.

Processing Accuracy: Tab size ±0.2mm; Total length ±1.5mm (6m current sheet); Burrs ≤10-25μm.
Production Efficiency: Metal Mold 30-60m/min; Laser Mold 80-160m/min (200mm wide current sheet can reach 200PPM).
